Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) in SIP hosted the XJTLU Strategic Ecosystem Development Conference on Oct 25, doing its bit in the implementation of the national strategy of boosting the country’s strength in science and technology and the development of local industries.

Xi Youmin, executive president of the university, said XJTLU is not only a school, but also the creator of an ecosystem which is expected to drive the development of both education and industries.

At the event, XJTLU announced the “2+2+1” strategy of integrating industrial, educational, research, administrative and social resources to develop materials and AI technologies to help promote the development of biomedical and semiconductor industries.

XJTLU Wisdom Lake Academy of Pharmacy and the National Center of Technology Innovation for Biopharmaceuticals announced to jointly set up the XJTLU NextGen Pharma X, the first facility and institutional platform dedicated to proving commercialization potential of new cutting-edge medical technologies and feasibility of product or service concepts in the country.

The XJTLU Advanced Semiconductor Research Centre was inaugurated. XJTLU and the National Third-generation Semiconductor Technology Innovation Center (Suzhou) announced to jointly promote the development of the XJTLU Advanced Semiconductors Innovation Consortium, and a number of projects were signed under related strategic cooperation.

XJTLU and Chinese tech company Baidu signed an agreement to establish a joint venture for cooperation in explorations in the AI sector.

XJTLU and Zooming New Energy, an energy arm of SIP-based Suzhou Chinese Consortium Holding Co Ltd, inaugurated a joint lab dedicated to developing AI-based energy utilization and carbon emission control solutions.

XJTLU and Gusu Lab signed an agreement to launch strategic cooperation in the development of XJTLU Advanced Materials Research Centre.

XJTLU and Haier Group, a Chinese consumer electronics and home appliance company, jointly inaugurated an industry-education integration innovation and application center, and XJTLU X-eco Mall signed strategic cooperation agreements with five enterprises.

The XJTLU Ecosystem Development Strategic Alliance was formed.
